Which cleaning service fits
Start with the state of the space and what happens next:
- You live there and want it kept up, or brought back to a good baseline. Book house cleaning, either on a schedule or as a one-off deep clean.
- The home is empty, or about to be. Book move-in and move-out cleaning. With the furniture gone, the Pro can reach inside closets, cabinets and appliances, and along every wall.
- One surface needs particular care. Carpets, windows and the fine dust after a renovation go to specialty cleaning.
- The outside of the house. Driveways, siding, decks and gutters go to pressure washing and gutter cleaning.
- A workplace. Offices, waiting rooms and small shops go to commercial cleaning.
Moving out of a rental in Virginia
Under Virginia's landlord-tenant law, the landlord inspects the home within 72 hours after you hand back possession, and you may attend if you ask in writing. Any deposit refund, with an itemized list of deductions, is due within 45 days of the end of the tenancy or of move-out, whichever is later (Va. Code § 55.1-1226, as of September 2026). So schedule the move-out clean before you hand over the keys, and take dated photos of every room once it's done. This is general information, not legal advice.
How to prepare
- Pick up clutter, so the time goes on cleaning rather than tidying.
- Tell the Pro about pets, allergies and any surfaces that need particular care, such as natural stone, unsealed wood or a delicate rug.
- For pressure washing, close windows, move patio furniture and planters, and ask whether the Pro needs your outdoor faucet.
- For gutters, say whether the house is one story or two, and where a ladder can stand.
- For an office, agree on access after hours and who holds the alarm code.
Frequently Asked Questions
A regular clean keeps up the surfaces you use every week: counters, sinks, toilets, floors and dusting. A deep clean reaches what builds up over months, such as baseboards, grout, vents, the inside of the oven and fridge, and the floor behind furniture. Say which you want and list any extras, so the Pro can plan for them.
